Kolping seniors is a subgroup of the Catholic Kolping Society of Cincinnati. Seniors promote the ideas of our founder, Blessed Adolph Kolping, by continuing to promote and support ideals of the Society, as well as to fulfill the interests and needs of our members. Members of Seniors, who are not members of Kolping, are Associate members of Kolping Cincinnati. They are welcome at all functions of the Society, but they do not have the right to vote. Senior Kolping members are 55 years of age and older.
Kolping Seniors meet monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:30 am. A short business meeting is followed by lunch and various activities as time and occasion warrant and permit.
The Kolping Seniors not only enjoy each others company--they also engage in charitable activities. At Christmas time we provide bags of personal items --deodorants, lotions, shampoo, etc. to each of the residents of the senior housing facility, OUR LADY IN THE WOODS, as well as a cash donation to the facility. In May we have a Baby Shower for the Pregnancy Center at Old St Mary's Church in downtown, Cincinnati. We assist in providing personal items to Tamar's Place - a drop-in-center for homeless young women, which is directed by one of our members. We provide support and assistance to the Catholic Kolping Society here in Cincinnati as well as to the National and International arm of the society.
Seniors support and actively participate in all programs and activities of the Society. Dues are $5.00 annually.
